	Gumball 3000 - London (Pall Mall) - April 2007 The Annual Gumball 3000 Rally came to the streets of London in superb form with celebrities such as Xzibit, Tim Westwood, Jay Kay and supermodel Jodie Kidd to name but a few. The Northern Monkeys made their way to London to meet Chris (006˝) Squires. The train journey down the monkeys went all out with hospitality with 12 bottles of Corona and approx 20 limes!!! We thought of everything Corona & Limes = genius! Except when it came to open the beer.....bottle-opener anyone? Sh!!! So luckily for us the conductor had one which caused great delight for us and probably a headache for the rest of the passengers lol. Now all we need is some limes to go with our much awaited beer. We got a bag full no problem ....ah....anyone got a knife to slice em? Sh!!!!!!!! Thankfully we were sat next to a rather nice young lady who was handy with sharp implements (aren't they all) and after seeing the monkeys prod and hopelessly attempt to slice the limes she took a very hands on approach probably after being squirted with lime lol and diced them up like it was a scene from Jakki Chan - ahhhh at last beeeeer and limes :) Oh and the cars were f*ing amazing! 	Shaz Ball 1000 - Trip to the Nurburgring - May 2007 In celebration of Simon Medley's imminent combining of vows with Sharon the infamous Shaz Ball 1000 was created. 8 Cars, 15 Men (1 Woman), 5 days and 1000 miles! We left Leeds and made our way to Dover to hitch a ride on the ferry to France. Upon arrival to France we were greeted by beautiful roads, smooth asphalt and sunshine! We then headed to Belgium and onto Germany to the infamous Nurburgring Race Circuit known worldwide! One lap is approx 14miles long with enough turns and curves to keep the professionals busy let alone us novices! Plans are being made, albeit rather bloody late in the day (Nathaniel!) for a re-run of this trip around 31 May 2008 - sods law this is the date I move into my apartment! 	TRAX - Fast Cars ...even faster women! The Monkeys calendar is usually bare at this time of year as can be said for most of the models at the show! Thankfully the cars are a far greater sight in most if not ALL aspects! Some crazy cars and some fairly tame ones too. Having been on the Mini Stand on a couple of occasions previously it was a much needed break from polishing and fly slapping on the side of the road in scorching UK heat! Read and see more .... 	Ibiza 2007 - What a load of balearics! - September 2007 The 3 Northern Monkeys ventured to the small island of Ibiza with Nick's family and had a right laugh! We blew and absolute shed load of euros after the rather tame and comparatively "cheap" Shaz Ball 1000 Trip. Much fun was had, many drink drank, lots of pissed up pool played (and won by yours truly), no illegal activities apart from the day trip in Capt. Trevor's (Nick's uncle) Ford Ka SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECH! :) Oh but Trevor repaid the favour with a blast in his speed boat to one of the other beaches across from where we were staying. Hitting waves face on in a small boat is like hitting concrete! Hold the f*** on!!!! We won't mention anything about those two girls you know Nick wink wink - one word "disappointment" lol or as a matter of fact the girl from Ibiza Town where I got shafted 30euros for 3 beers but hey the "scenery" was first class!! :) [ u n d e r c o n s t r u c t i o n ] - Photos to follow Read and see more .... 	Big Ass Sounds - The need for music! My preferred genre is mainly (US not UK) Hip Hop but this sometimes spills into Rap and R&B with the occasional Dance/Trance tracks dependant on what I'm doing at the time. Always have time for other styles of music, that is as long as it isn't what I call "student" music ...yes you know those wannabe's playing guitars in a 3bit band waiting to make it BIG....please! :) Having a beat or serious bassline to me is what its all about. Most of the time I couldn't give a rats ass what was being said in the song as long as the beat gets that foot tapping and the head swaying! Certain songs just have that special something and when you hear them you know straight away, from the cheezy chart classics like Usher to the more offensive Dr Dre & Ice Cube - if you hear them in a club the roof comes off. Shame most clubs just play the same old chart type hip hop / r&b stuff. Been following for some time now a couple of guys over in the States who goes by the name of Mysto & Pizzi - yea ok they sound like a couple of Mario characters but their shit is gooooood! Go watch how they make their beats and turn simple chart type songs into serious club tracks. Another hip hop fan from the same stable as me is Richard and you can see by the install in his Mini which had over Ł3,000.00 spent in upgrading the "brand new" equipment that serious sounds were the order of the day with a full flip screen navigation/music/tv which proved most useful when we took on Europe! 	Peugeot 207 - May 2008 The Mini went and in its place was a cheap n cheerful 2006 model 207. Had fun with it for about 2 weeks before selling it :) Happy days! Read and see more .... [ h e r e ]
	Ford Focus ST2 - New Car Purchase - May 2008 Well decided to trade in the Peugeot and go for something with a bit more power for the trip to the Nurburgring at the end of May. This care was awesome for all of a month of ownership. Sadly due to the ridiculous MPG I was averaging plus the way the market was heading with regards to petrol prices I decided a quick sale was needed so that not too much money was lost. 	Playtoy 1000 - Return to the Ring - May 2008 Armed with a brand new Focus ST me and my cuz took on the mighty trip to the Nurburgring along with 11 other car nuts! Various top speed sprints, near fatal accidents, cocktails and the never to be forgotten night in the strip clubs! All in all it was another fantastic trip! Read and see more .... [ h e r e ]
